Before you start

Your employer chooses who tracks time on projects. If Work Sessions isn't in your menu, ask them to set you to Tracks time on projects. You also need to be signed in (see Your account as a member of staff).

Open Work Sessions

Press Work Sessions in your menu. The Web timer is on the right, or at the top on a phone. Under it, Entries lists the time you've tracked.

Start the timer

  1. Under Task, choose what you're working on. The list shows the tasks your employer assigned to you, grouped by project. Choose Unassigned if none fits.
  2. Leave Billable ticked if the time can go on a client's invoice.
  3. Under Description, write what you're doing.
  4. Press Start web timer.

While it runs

The timer appears at the top of the Web timer with "What are you working on?". Change the words there and press Save description whenever the work changes.

Your running session is also the first row under Entries:

  • Press the Pause button on its row for a break, and Resume to carry on. Paused time isn't counted.
  • Press the Stop button when you finish.

A timer that runs for 24 hours without a pause stops itself at the 24-hour mark, and your manager is asked to check it.

Check your sessions

The boxes at the top total your Active time and Payable time for the dates shown. To see other days, change Start date and End date under Session filters, or choose a Project, Task or Status, and press Apply filters.

Press Open on a session for its detail: when it ran, any changes your manager made to its payable time, and its history.

Your manager approves your time before it goes to payroll. Approved sessions say Approved.

Work from your tasks

Press My Tasks in your menu. Each task assigned to you has:

  • a status (Assigned, Accepted, Paused or Done) and a progress percentage: change them and press Save progress;
  • Start web timer, with a short Timer note, to start timing that task straight away;
  • Create issue, to tell your manager about a problem with the task, with a priority;
  • Hide task, to tidy away finished work. Show hidden tasks brings it back.

See your hours

Time Reports in your menu shows your own tracked time for any dates, by project, client or task, and downloads it as a PDF or CSV. See Download time reports.

Good to know

  • The timer runs on PaySuiteTT, not your device: you can close the page, and it keeps going until you stop it.
  • If your employer has turned off tracking on phones, the web timer says so on a phone. Use a computer instead.
  • To fix a session's times, ask your manager. They can change its payable time before they approve it.
